Thursday's Menu


Oh boy - I ate WAY too much food on Thursday. I did manage to keep it low-carb...but I consumed WAY more calories than I need. I guess that's gonna happen every once in a while, but I'll be back on the straight and narrow on Friday.

The day started off fine - but I went to The Police concert at Citizens Bank Park last night and ended up eating an extra meal before the show! Hey, how can you NOT eat some old-style Philly food when you're right there! Besides we had about an hour to kill before The Police were scheduled to go on.

Thursday's Menu


We went out to dinner Thursday night at Steak 38 in Brigantine - and it's always tougher to stay on your eating plan when you're out - right? Well, I basically stayed on my plan...I just ate WAY too much food! For the first time in a long time I truly felt "stuffed" walking out there last night! I also blew my "no cheese" thing for this week since I opted for the bleu cheese dressing on my salad (yum!). As a sidebar - if you're a steak eater...do yourself a favor and go to Steak 38! Delicious!
So here we go for Thursday's recap:

B - 2 fried eggs, 1 leftover BBQed turkey sausage link

L - blackened chicken caesar salad

D - 20 oz rib steak, bernaise sauce, green beans, green peppers in olive oil, salad w/ bleu cheese, tomatoes, onions

Down ANOTHER pound today to go down to 168lbs! I'm easily the lightest I've been since college. You gotta love losing fat - while eating fat!

L - WaWa roasted chicken salad w/bacon, tomato, & ranch dressing
S - handful of peanuts
D - 3 links of turkey sausage w/fat/carb/calorie/sugar free BBQ sauce (yum!)

Tuesday's Menu

Another pound gone this morning...to take me down to 169...and just 11 pounds away from where I'd like to be!

I'm going without cheese for the rest of this week as an experiment. I've been reading online about many people who say that cheese, while Atkins-friendly, causes their weight loss to stall. Since the final 10-15 pounds are always the hardest to lose, I decided I'd give up my beloved cheese for a week and see if it makes any difference for me. I'm also taking a break from the Atkins bars...which are really more for people who are in "maintainance" mode. Between dropping the cheese and the bars, maybe I can lose more than my usual 1 pound this week. I LOVE cheese...and those bars...so they'll definitely be back SOON!


Here's today's menu:

B - 2 scrambled eggs with green & red peppers, low-carb ketchup

L - 6oz leftover BBQ pork tenderloin, broccoli

D - 6oz turkey burger topped with salsa, lettuce

About 75 oz of water today!

Back From Vacation

I'm back from my very enjoyable week-long vacation spot. No - not Walley World (though I did sport my Walley World t-shirt the other day)...but the wonderful resort up in the Catskill Mountains that my family and I have been vacationing at every summer for 32 years! - Anyway, it's back to reality today...and the good news is I didn't gain any weight on vacation, which as you know is no small feat...so I'm holding steady at 170 lbs...for now. I fully intend to continue shaving off the weight and love what I'm eating!
